Leaving Mirissa harbour at dawn, the boat heads for the waters where the continental shelf comes close to shore; from November to April blue whales, sperm whales and dolphin pods are seen. Watching lasts a few hours, and boats keep their distance from the whales. Sailings stop in the monsoon months.
