Şanlıurfa 概要
Boat tours in Şanlıurfa depart from Halfeti, on the Birecik Dam reservoir on the Euphrates. The reservoir covered part of old Halfeti and the village of Savaşan on the opposite bank; boats pass over the submerged neighbourhoods and stop before the Savaşan mosque, of which only the minaret and upper walls still rise above the water. The route also runs beneath Rumkale, set on a rocky promontory where the Merzimen stream meets the Euphrates. The trip takes about 90 minutes, and boats leave whenever they fill up between 08:00 and 18:00. Halfeti has been part of the Cittaslow network since 2013.
