Siem Reap'ten karayoluyla yaklaşık bir saatte Kampong Phluk tekne iskelesine gidilir. Motorlu tekne nehir boyunca 6–9 metrelik kazıklar üzerindeki evlerin arasından köye iner; yağmur mevsiminde köy halkının kullandığı küçük kürekli kayıklarla sular altındaki ormana girilir. Ardından tekne Tonle Sap Gölü'nün açık suyuna çıkar; akşamüstü turlarında gün batımı göl üzerinde izlenir. Kuru mevsimin sonunda (yaklaşık mart–haziran) su en alt seviyeye iner, kazıklar çamur üzerinde kalır ve orman kayık gezisi yapılamayabilir.
