In the early 2000s the Birecik Dam reservoir flooded part of old Halfeti and the village of Savaşan on the opposite bank. Boats leaving the Halfeti pier first pass over submerged houses, a school and orchards, then pull up beside the Savaşan mosque, of which only the minaret and upper walls still rise above the water. A short tea break is taken on the Savaşan shore. The route then runs beneath Rumkale, the fortress on the rock where the Euphrates meets the Merzimen stream, before returning to Halfeti. Boats leave throughout the day once they fill up, and the trip takes about an hour and a half.

- Shared boats depart when full; according to the municipality announcement, trips are between 08:00 - 18:00.
- In the standard tour, Rumkale is not visited; the castle is viewed from the boat. The interior of the castle may be closed to visitors at times due to restoration and security reasons.
- The duration and stops of tours sold under the same name may vary depending on the operator at the dock; confirm the route, duration, and return time before boarding.
- Payment is mostly cash. Afternoons in July and August are very hot; bring a hat and water.
- Private boat tours with longer routes (Merzimen Valley, in front of Kral Kızı Cave) and breakfast/sunset tours are also available for rent.
- Stop times show typical schedule; exact times vary by operator.
