Gustavia en bref
Gustavia is the harbour of Saint-Barthélemy and the departure point for boat trips. The nature reserve created in 1996 protects about 1,200 hectares of sea in five sectors: the Gros Îlets and Pain de Sucre off Gustavia, the islets of Fourchue, Frégate and Toc Vers, the area around Colombier and part of the northeast coast. Colombier bay can be reached only by boat or on foot, and green turtles feed in its seagrass. Mooring in the reserve is limited to the buoys at Colombier and Fourchue. The dry season runs December to May and hurricane season June to November.
