Punta Cana en bref
Punta Cana is at the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic. Day boats go from Bayahibe to Saona island, part of Cotubanamá National Park, stopping on the way at the shallow natural pool where starfish live. Catalina island is known for reef snorkelling. Along Punta Cana's own coast, catamaran and sunset trips run. Hurricane season runs June to November, and December to April is the busiest period.
