Shimoni & Wasini en bref
Shimoni is a fishing town on Kenya's south coast near the Tanzanian border, facing Wasini Island, with the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park run by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to the south. The park covers four small islands and their coral reef, where bottlenose dolphins and green and hawksbill turtles are seen. The classic trip is a dhow from Shimoni pier to the park for snorkelling, followed by a seafood lunch on Wasini. Most trips are combined with road transfers from Diani and Mombasa hotels. To the north, Funzi Island and the mangroves of the Ramisi river make a second dhow route.
