Île aux Cerfs en bref
Île aux Cerfs is a small island inside the reef-sheltered lagoon on the east coast of Mauritius, in the Flacq district. Boats mostly leave from the village of Trou d'Eau Douce on the opposite shore, and because they stay inside the lagoon the water is usually calm. The classic day trip is by catamaran and includes the waterfall a short way up the Grand River South East (GRSE) from its mouth. The island has beaches, a golf course and paid water sports. Half-day speedboat trips and private pontoon or speedboat outings are also common.
