North Sound (Grand Cayman) en bref

North Sound is the wide, shallow, reef-fringed lagoon on the north of Grand Cayman. The main target of boat trips is the Stingray City sandbars just inside a natural channel through the reef, where southern stingrays are met in waist-deep water. The area is regulated as a Wildlife Interaction Zone: lifting rays out of the water and anchoring on the shallow sand are prohibited. Most trips leave from the marinas at West Bay; Starfish Point and the Rum Point–Kaibo shore on the east side serve as lunch and swim stops. On dark nights, evening trips run from Rum Point and Kaibo to the bioluminescent bay.
