On Lake Eğirdir, Turkey's fourth-largest lake and second-largest freshwater source, Eğirdir Municipality runs one-hour lake tours on the 12-metre boat Gölbelde 1. Batteries charged by solar panels on its roof drive an electric motor, so the boat moves quietly. The tour gives views from the water of the Eğirdir waterfront and castle, Yeşilada with its stone and timber houses, and Can Ada, presented to Atatürk in 1933; both islands are now linked to the mainland by road. The boat carries 60 passengers and can also be hired for weddings, engagements and other private events.
