Aperçu
İZDENİZ, the ferry company of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, runs guided tours of the gulf on the historic Bergama ferry. Leaving Konak pier, the ship spends about two hours passing Pasaport, Alsancak, the port area, Bayraklı, Alaybey, Karşıyaka and Bostanlı, then follows the southern shore past Göztepe and Karataş before returning to Konak. The guide tells the city's more than 8,000-year story through landmarks such as Kemeraltı, the Clock Tower, the Kordon waterfront, Yeşilova Mound and the Gediz Delta. The tours run on set dates each season: Sunday-afternoon sailings in winter and spring, and evening sunset sailings in summer periods.
