A private boat from the pier near Ross Castle crosses Lough Leane to Innisfallen Island in about 15 minutes. On the island visitors walk among the ruins of the monastery founded in the 7th century, where the Annals of Inisfallen were written; the boat then cruises the lake and returns to Ross Castle. Length and route on the lake are set with the group; the trip takes about two hours.
