Sakarya en bref
Sakarya's boat trips take place on Lake Sapanca, whose eastern half lies in Sakarya and western half in Kocaeli. The tectonic lake sits about 33 metres above sea level, stretches 16 km east to west and 5 km north to south, and supplies most of the city's drinking water — which is why environmentally friendly use comes first here. Cooperative boats leaving the Rüstempaşa waterfront run on electric and solar power and make quiet 20–25 minute rides, with the Samanlı Mountains rising to the south.
