Bay of Islands about

The Bay of Islands is a bay in the north of New Zealand scattered with more than 140 islands. Boats from Paihia and Russell go to the Hole in the Rock arch on Piercy Island at Cape Brett and pass through it when conditions allow. Bottlenose dolphins are seen in the bay all year, with swimming restricted by conservation rules. Urupukapuka island, with its trails and coves, is the lunch stop. Summer runs December to March.
