Reykjavík about

Reykjavík's boat trips leave from the Old Harbour (Gamla höfnin) next to the Harpa concert hall and head into Faxaflói Bay. Whale watching runs all year; minke and humpback whales are the most frequent sightings in summer, while white-beaked dolphins and harbour porpoises are seen year-round. From mid-May to mid-August the puffin colonies on the islets of Lundey, Akurey and Engey are watched from the boat; landing is forbidden to protect the birds. In summer, sea angling trips also fish the shallow parts of the bay. Weather and sea state often affect sailings, and sightings are never guaranteed.
