An island off Çeşme known for clear shallow water — the free-roaming donkeys are the tour's surprise.

Volcanic rocks believed to feature in Homer's Odyssey — a classic stop on Foça tours.

Where do tours leave from in İzmir?

Each harbour has its own route, season and tour length.

Çeşme

Çeşme

Çeşme Marina / Dalyan Limanı

6-7 hours June – September

Çeşme tours run to Donkey Island and the shores of Ildırı (ancient Erythrai). The free-roaming donkeys give the island its name, and the water around it is shallow and clear. The route continues to Blue Bay and Garip Island. Aegean herb meze and the catch of the day set these tours apart. Because the northerly meltemi picks up in the afternoon, boats return early.

  2. Ildırı (Erythrai) bays
  3. Blue Bay
  4. Garip Island
  5. Çeşme waters
Foça

Foça

Foça Büyükdeniz Limanı

6 hours June – September

Foça tours circle the volcanic Siren Rocks — believed to be the sirens of Homer's Odyssey. Swim stops are made at Orak and İncir islands. The area is a habitat for the Mediterranean monk seal; on lucky days they can be watched from a distance, though approaching them is prohibited. Lunch is usually the day's fresh catch.

  2. Orak Island
  3. İncir Island
  4. Seal watching point
  5. Foça bays
Sığacık

Sığacık

Sığacık Teos Marina

6 hours June – September

Sığacık is known for its castle market and marina. Boats anchor around the harbour of ancient Teos; Akkum and Ekmeksiz bays are part of the route. The water is calm and shallow, making it good for families with children. The town is also one of Türkiye's first Cittaslow towns — a walk inside the castle before or after the tour is worthwhile.

  1. Ancient Teos harbour
  2. Akkum Bay
  3. Ekmeksiz Bay
  4. Sığacık waters
  5. Castle quarter

İzmir about

Day tours in İzmir centre on the Çeşme peninsula, the Foça islands, Sığacık and Dikili. Çeşme tours visit the turquoise coves of Donkey Island and the shores of ancient Erythrai; Foça tours cover the Siren Rocks, Orak Island and Mediterranean monk seal spotting points. Boats from Sığacık anchor around the ancient harbour of Teos. Aegean herb meze and the catch of the day set these tours apart.
