Crete about

Crete is Greece's largest island, and its boat trips start at different ends of the coast. From Kissamos in the north-west, boats land at the Venetian fort on Gramvousa island and stop in the shallow, pale-blue lagoon of Balos. In the east, boats cross from Elounda and Agios Nikolaos to Spinalonga, the former leper colony inside Venetian walls. Short coastal trips run from Chania harbour. Elafonisi in the south-west is known for pink sand and is usually reached by road.
