Algarve about

The Algarve is Portugal's southern coast, and its boat trips go to caves carved into limestone cliffs. Benagil cave is known for the round opening in its roof; entry is regulated by the authorities and most boats view it from the mouth. The rock arches and grottoes of Ponta da Piedade at Lagos are explored by small boats. In the east, boats from Faro and Olhão cross to the barrier islands of the Ria Formosa lagoon. Dolphin-watching trips run from Albufeira and Vilamoura.
