Aitutaki about

Aitutaki, in the southern Cook Islands, is known for the wide lagoon enclosed by its triangular barrier reef. Lagoon cruises leave the main island, mostly from the Ootu peninsula on the east side, and tour the motu (islets) along the reef. Tapuaetai (One Foot Island) is known for its white sandspit and tiny post office that stamps passports, and Akaiami for being the 1950s stopover of the Coral Route flying boats. Giant clams and reef fish are seen while snorkelling on the coral heads. Stonefish live in the lagoon, so reef shoes are advised in rocky spots.
