Calanques about

The Calanques are narrow inlets cut between limestone cliffs from Marseille to Cassis, a national park since 2012. Sormiou, Morgiou, Sugiton, En-Vau and Port-Pin are the main inlets seen by boat, En-Vau with its white cliffs and green water the best known. Boats from Marseille's Old Port also take in the Frioul islands and the Château d'If. In summer the park's land access can close on high fire-risk days, when the sea is the only way in. Departures are from Marseille, Cassis and La Ciotat.
