About this tour
Leaving Ootu Beach, the boat tours the motu in the south-east of the lagoon. There are landings on Moturakau and Akaiami, the 1950s refuelling stop of the Coral Route flying boats. Giant clams and reef fish are seen while snorkelling on coral heads near the reef. Lunch is served on board and the day ends at Tapuaetai (One Foot Island), whose tiny post office stamps passports.
