About this tour
From a marina at West Bay the boat crosses the North Sound lagoon to the Stingray City sandbar inside the reef channel, where southern stingrays are met in waist-deep water. It then continues to Starfish Point on the east shore to see sea stars in shallow water and swim. The sandbar is a Wildlife Interaction Zone: rays are not lifted out of the water and boats do not anchor on the shallow sand. Lifting sea stars out of the water is also an offence.
