About this tour
Leaving Konstanz, the ship passes along the Seerhein into the Untersee and, after Gottlieben, runs beside Reichenau, the UNESCO-listed monastic island. Beyond Steckborn on the Swiss shore the lake narrows into the Rhine, and the ship berths at Stein am Rhein, a medieval town known for its painted house fronts. After free time in the town the return is by ship or by train. The passage takes roughly two and a half to three hours one way; the route crosses between Germany and Switzerland, so carry ID.
