About this tour
Fishing boats leaving Mordoğan harbour early in the morning spend the whole day line fishing on the deep grounds of the outer Gulf of İzmir from autumn to spring. The boats work with a fish finder in depths of up to 70 metres, targeting species such as common pandora, grouper, dentex, octopus, scorpionfish and amberjack. If the fish are not biting, the captain moves between registered fishing marks. Rods, weights, hooks and bait are brought by the guests; operators recommend 100-150 gram weights and baits such as sardine, anchovy and horse mackerel. No meals are served, while hot drinks are free. Guests keep the fish they catch.
