About this tour
Yamula Dam, which locals call Kayseri's sea, lies on the Kızılırmak about 25 kilometres northwest of the city. Boats leaving the Kuşçu Marina facilities, run by Kocasinan Municipality, make lake tours of about 30 to 40 minutes. The old town of Kuşçu, flooded by the reservoir in 2003, lies beneath these waters, and local captains point out where houses, vineyards and gardens once stood. Boats do not follow a timetable but leave once 15 passengers are on board, and weekends are busy.
