Overview
The lake landing closest to Siem Reap is Chong Kneas, below Phnom Krom hill. The boat follows a channel to the lake and passes through Chong Kneas village with its floating homes, schools, shops and fish farms; the village moves with the water level. After reaching the open water of the lake, it returns to the landing. The trip takes 1.5–2 hours and can be combined with the temple on Phnom Krom hill. Chong Kneas is the busiest and most commercial of the villages, so agree any extra charges in advance.
