Overview
The boat leaves Vila do Abraão, rounds the eastern end of the island and lands at Praia do Pouso in Palmas bay. From there a trail of about 20 minutes inside the state park leads to Lopes Mendes beach; boats do not land on this open-sea beach. Free time is spent at Lopes Mendes, then guests walk back to Pouso to re-board. Surf at Lopes Mendes can be strong and lifeguards are not always present. The day takes about 6 hours.
