Overview
Lake Işıklı in the Çivril district of Denizli holds Turkey's largest water-lily fields. Boats leaving the piers at Beydilli and Sundurlu first pass through about 500 metres of reed channels, then reach Bird Island, where hundreds of cormorants nest. The route ends in the broad lily fields at the centre of the lake before heading back to the pier. The roughly 15-kilometre tour takes between one and one and a half hours. The lilies open early in the morning and begin to close in the afternoon, so morning trips are best.
