Overview
Killarney's classic boat passage: an open boat crosses Lough Leane from Ross Castle, enters the Meeting of the Waters through the channel near Dinis and runs the current under Old Weir Bridge. It follows the Long Range river past the Eagle's Nest crag to the Upper Lake, and the boat trip ends at Lord Brandon's Cottage at the head of the Gap of Dunloe. After the roughly 90-minute passage, the return is through the Gap of Dunloe on foot, by bike or by pony and trap; on some days the route runs in reverse because of the weather.
