About this tour
Guests board a private kettuvallam at noon at the houseboat landing in Punnamada; the boat heads out onto Vembanad Lake and then into the canals of Kuttanad. Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are cooked on board, with paddy fields, canal-side villages and fishing canoes along the way. Houseboats stop cruising in the late afternoon and spend the night at anchor; there is no night cruising. After breakfast the next morning the boat returns to the landing. The whole boat is hired, with one to five bedrooms.
