Elazığ about
Elazığ offers two distinct boat routes. Trips from the Sivrice shore run on Lake Hazar, a tectonic lake at 1,248 m that reaches a depth of 216 m; boats pass over an old settlement of about 2.5 km² submerged along the southern shore and circle Kilise and Güvercin islands. Boats from Keban head into the canyons carved by the Euphrates: the 4.5 km Saklıkapı Canyon is followed by the Karaleylek Canyon, some 40 km long. Sheer cliffs and caves are the main sights on this route. Canyon trips must be booked in advance.
